Hi there.

I’m Whitney. A life-long nordork with a passion for skinny skis.

I created Sisu Ski Retreat back in 2020, when I couldn’t find any friends to ski with in Colorado. At first I wasn’t sure if anyone would come. But after nine sold-out retreats, we’ve built a community of skiers across the Mountain West.

Will you join us?

Our goal is to have a good time.

We primarily offer women’s-only Nordic ski retreats, and are now introducing private ski days, as well. While some of our events include yoga and meditation classes, we will also be eating hearty ranch meals and drinking wine (and probably whiskey) after the sun goes down. You can attend every class and then some, or you can chill in your cabin with a good book.

You are welcome to make this the perfect weekend, for you.

What is skate skiing?

It’s a type of Nordic, or cross-country, skiing in which an individual uses an asymmetrical motion to cover long distances on a pair of skinny skis.

If you liked roller blading or ice skating as a kid, you’ll like this.

“Absolutely fantastic weekend filled with so much laughter, fun, and unforgettable memories.”

What is Sisu?

Sisu is a Finnish word that translates to bravery, determination, or stick-with-it-ness. Because cross-country skiing is a sometimes challenging (but highly rewarding) sport and it has Nordic roots, we think Sisu is the perfect word to describe our event.
